How We Got Started

Long Ago...

It was a hot, dry, dusty day when the trail boss began the drive that would forever change the lives of numerous cowboys, cowgirls, and tinhorns alike across the wild frontier.

The trail boss Hank Scott started with a buckboard wagon, a couple of trail hands and a desire to make western wear available to everyone across this great country long before anyone had heard of the internet. Hank watered his horses and loaded up his wagon with the finest hats, boots, ropes and spurs for the long journey ahead.

With a strong faith in God, Hank traveled across the frontier braving stampedes, weather, rattlesnakes, and wild animals (not just the four legged kind either) to bring quality wares to the townsfolk. He would set up at local rodeos, roundups, county fairs, and the local tradin’ post before heading to the next town. And thus, the Wandering Cowboys were born.

Where We Wandered

Over The Years...

Over the years Hank and Miss Bonnie have shown extreme kindness and patience guiding others down the trail in the true Wandering Cowboys tradition. Hank has passed on more than one set of spurs to quality trail hands along the way. All Wandering Cowboys owe their existence to the original Wandering Cowboy Hank Scott.

Today, modern day Wandering Cowboys still travel across the country bringing quality merchandise and superior selection at affordable prices. You can find Wandering Cowboys at events such as rodeos, fairs, festivals and roundups from California to New York and from Texas to Wisconsin. Wandering Cowboys are not just located in one- horse towns. You can also visit one of our storefronts from Arizona to North Carolina and from Texas to New York.

All Wandering Cowboys are independent of one another and this website. Some even operate under a different name. One thing that is the same is that we all sell great western wear and western products at the best possible prices. More importantly, we treat people well. This is evidenced by the free cleaning and shaping we provide at any location, including rodeos, roundups, or any store location.
